1 Timothy 3:8-10
Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
Knowing The Spirit of Truth
1 John 4:6
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
WHAT IT MEANS TO TRUST GOD'S VISION FOR A WHOLE NEW WAY OF LIFE.
And Jesus' prayer in John 17 is about love for one another in Christ's body, the church. A whole lot of prayer is about learning to trust Jesus and love our sisters and brothers.
True spiritual community is about surrounding ourselves with people who look like the person we want to become.
