Why We Were Created
We were created by God to fulfill his purpose on earth. In the book of Jonah the Lord spoke to Jonah giving him direct instruction to carry out against the people of Nineveh a great city with so much wickedness occurring. Jonah had prayed and fought against this city for over 25yrs and now the Lord instructed him with a message for Nineveh repent of their wickedness and service the Lord our God.

Nineveh eyes were closed to the things of God. So many of us believe that what we are doing is right in our own eyesight. Jonah was displeased with God’s instruction seeing that this great city has persecuted the Israelite for years and now God what to show them mercy. We will never understand the purpose of God and why he does what he does. He is Sovereign all knowing and has a purpose in everything he does. Jonah obeys the instruction given to him after the Lord spoke the second time. Even after Jonah obeyed, his heart was trouble and his flesh arose in anger to the Lord request of him.
We can see through Jonah experience his heart was hardened toward the people of Nineveh. How many of us hearts are hardened toward unbeliever, those that have done you wrong and our fellow brothers and sister in the Body of Christ we claim to love. Jonah eyes were blind to the supernatural realm the power of SALVATION is for all mankind. God has no respect of person; we have all sin and falling and come short of the glory of God.
Jonah1:1-2 Instruction
Now the word OF THE LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it, for their wickedness is come up before me.
Jonah1:3 Flee From the Presence of the LORD
But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence OF THE LORD, and went down to Joppa, and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence OF THE LORD.
Bullet Points
· What would make us flee from the presence of the LORD!
· What is the state of our mind when the LORD gave us the instruction!
· What where the consequence of our disobedient to the instruction!
· Who will suffer from our action?
· Who will be held accountable?
· Who can be saved?
· Why do we need to repent and turn again to the LORD’s presence:
· Why should we forgive others:
· Why is SALVATION for everyone:
· How do we show LOVE? (love is an action not just saying I Love you)
· How can our life impact another person’s life? (give an example)
· How can we win a soul into the Kingdom of God? (Think about this point before answering)
